Remove Residual Oxygen From Sealed Food Storage, 50 Pack

Even a sealed bag traps air, and the oxygen in that air slowly degrades stored food. Harvest Right oxygen absorbers reduce residual oxygen inside the package to below 0.01%, protecting food from spoilage, mold growth, color change, loss of nutritive value, insect damage and loss of quality. They do it without food additives, preservatives or vacuum sealing.

Each absorber is rated at 700cc and sized for gallon-size Mylar bags. The pack contains 50 absorbers.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Below 0.01% residual oxygen — removes the oxygen that drives oxidation and spoilage.
  • No additives or preservatives — protects food chemically without adding anything to it.
  • No vacuum sealer needed — drop one in the bag and heat seal.
  • 700cc capacity — sized for gallon-size Mylar bags.

Who Should Use Oxygen Absorbers

Oxygen absorbers are essential for anyone packaging freeze-dried food in Mylar for long-term storage, from emergency-preparedness families to homesteaders. Growers also use them to protect stored herbs and plant material from oxidation.

About Harvest Right Oxygen Absorbers

Harvest Right includes oxygen absorbers with its home freeze dryers and sells them in 50-packs for refills.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an oxygen absorber do?
An oxygen absorber contains iron powder that reacts with oxygen in a sealed package, removing it from the air inside. Harvest Right's absorbers reduce residual oxygen to below 0.01%. Less oxygen means less oxidation, spoilage and insect activity.
How many do I use per bag?
Harvest Right sizes these 700cc absorbers for gallon-size Mylar bags, so one per gallon bag is the standard starting point. Smaller bags can use one absorber as well. Seal bags promptly once an absorber is added.
How should I store unused absorbers?
Absorbers start working as soon as they're exposed to air, so open the pack only when you're ready to seal bags. Reseal unused absorbers in an airtight container or bag right away. Work quickly to avoid using up their capacity.
Do I still need a vacuum sealer?
No. Oxygen absorbers remove residual oxygen chemically, so a heat-sealed Mylar bag with an absorber doesn't need vacuum sealing. An impulse sealer closes the bag.
