Begrow Stone Wool Cubes - 4 x 4 x 2.6-in - 288 Count

Stable Seedling Cubes for Direct Seeding or Transplanting - 4 x 4 x 2.6 in

Seedlings need a medium that holds its shape when wet and drains well enough to keep roots healthy. These stone wool cubes use a vertical fiber structure and drainage channels in the lower layer to support growth in lower-moisture conditions. The distributor lists a porosity above 95% and a full-immersion time under 25 seconds.

With 288 cubes per unit, this size suits growers who start seedlings regularly in indoor or hydroponic setups and want a large, consistent supply. Smaller trials can share a unit across several starts.

Key Features & Benefits

• Vertical fiber structure — guides water and roots through the cube.
• Drainage channels in the lower layer — support growth in low soil moisture conditions.
• Hydrophilic stone wool — wets through quickly, in under 25 seconds for full immersion.
• Holes in the upper layer — accept plugs with sprouts that have already grown.
• Rigid when wet — the cube keeps its mechanical stability.

Who Should Use Begrow Stone Wool Cubes

Use these cubes if you start seedlings in hydroponic systems, whether you seed directly or transplant germinated plugs. They suit home growers who propagate often and commercial growers who need a steady supply.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I plant seeds directly in these cubes?
A: Yes. The cubes are designed for direct seed planting. You can also transplant seedlings into them.

Q: How do I transplant into the cubes?
A: Germinate seeds in stone wool plugs first. Then insert the plugs with grown sprouts into the holes in the upper layer of the cubes.

Q: What does porosity mean?
A: Porosity is the share of the material's volume that is open space for air and water. The distributor lists this product above 95%.

Q: Will the cubes collapse when wet?
A: The high-density stone wool is designed to keep its rigidity and mechanical stability after wetting. The distributor lists a recovery level above 98% at 6 kPa.

Q: How many cubes come in a unit?
A: Each unit holds 288 cubes.
