3/4 Inch Flow Restrictor for Dosatron Injectors, 10 GPM – FR34-10GPM

The Dilution Solutions FR34-10GPM is a 3/4-inch flow restrictor designed for use on the inlet side of Dosatron proportional injectors. Flow restrictors limit the maximum flow rate of water through a line, preventing conditions where the flow rate exceeds what the Dosatron unit can handle. When water flow through a Dosatron injector exceeds the unit's rated maximum, the injector can overflow — allowing more water through than the unit can proportion correctly.

The FR34-10GPM limits the inlet flow to 10 GPM, making it appropriate for Dosatron units with a 10 GPM maximum flow rating. Dilution Solutions also offers the FR34-14GPM (DSFR3414GPM) for Dosatron D14 series units with a 14 GPM rating. Install the correct flow restrictor for the specific Dosatron model in the system.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 GPM Flow Limit — Restricts inlet flow to 10 GPM to protect the Dosatron from overflow conditions.
  • 3/4-Inch Connection — Sized for 3/4-inch Dosatron inlet connections.
  • Inlet Side Installation — Installs upstream of the Dosatron unit on the inlet side.
  • Overflow Prevention — Prevents flow rates that would exceed the Dosatron's maximum rating.
  • Dosatron System Compatible — Designed for integration with Dilution Solutions NDS Dosatron injector systems.
  • Simple Installation — Inline installation on the inlet side requires no special tools.

Who Should Use This Restrictor

The FR34-10GPM is recommended for any Dosatron installation where the water supply pressure could drive flow rates above 10 GPM through the injector. In systems with high supply pressure or large-diameter supply plumbing feeding smaller Dosatron units, a flow restrictor prevents overflow and ensures accurate proportioning.

Why Dosatron Injectors Need Flow Restrictors

Dosatron proportional injectors are rated for a specific range of water flow rates — for example, 10–100 GPH or 0.26–10 GPM depending on the model. When water flows through the injector within that rated range, proportioning is accurate. When flow exceeds the maximum, the piston mechanism inside the injector cannot keep up, and the unit effectively passes more water than it can proportion. This results in the injector delivering less concentrate than intended — or in extreme cases, no concentrate at all. A flow restrictor on the inlet side limits the maximum flow to the injector's rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the FR34-10GPM limit flow to?
The FR34-10GPM limits the inlet flow rate to 10 GPM.
Where is it installed?
The flow restrictor installs on the inlet side of the Dosatron unit, upstream of the injector.
Do I need a flow restrictor on every Dosatron installation?
Dilution Solutions recommends installing a flow restrictor if there is any possibility of the water flow rate exceeding the Dosatron unit's maximum rating. In systems with high supply pressure, this is a standard precaution.
What is the difference between FR34-10GPM and FR34-14GPM?
The FR34-10GPM limits flow to 10 GPM and is for standard Dosatron units. The FR34-14GPM (DSFR3414GPM) limits flow to 14 GPM and is for Dosatron D14 series units.
