Fast pH Readings in Any Growing Medium, Spear-Tip Probe

Substrate pH can drift away from the pH of your feed, and pen-style meters cannot always reach into beds or deep containers. The Multimedia pH Meter pairs a handheld display with a toughened spear-tip probe on a 2 metre cable. Push the probe into the medium for a direct root zone reading, or use it in solution.

It suits growers who work across soil, coco, rockwool and hydroponics and want one meter for all of them. The included dibber (auger) makes a pilot hole in firm media before you insert the probe.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Replaceable spear-tip probe — the Bluelab Leap pH Probe is built for direct substrate measurement and swaps out when worn.
  • Multimedia use — measures in soil, coco coir, rockwool, potting mix and nutrient solution.
  • 2-point calibration — pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 (or pH 10.0) with a 30-day reminder.
  • KCl-filled probe cap — keeps the pH sensor hydrated between readings.

Who Should Use the Multimedia pH Meter

Growers using soil or soilless substrates who want direct root zone pH readings, and hydroponic growers who also want a meter that handles solution. The 2 m cable helps reach into beds and large containers.

About Bluelab Multimedia pH Meter

The Multimedia pH Meter reads pH 0.0–14.0 with ±0.1 accuracy at 25°C / 77°F and runs on 2x AAA batteries. It carries a 5-year limited warranty on the meter and 6 months on the pH probe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why measure pH directly in the substrate?
The pH roots experience in the medium can differ from the pH of the feed you apply. A direct reading shows conditions where nutrient uptake actually happens. It also avoids slurry or pour-through tests.
What is the dibber for?
The dibber (auger) makes a pilot hole in firm or compacted media. Inserting the probe into a pre-made hole protects the spear tip and improves contact with the substrate.
Can I use other Bluelab pH probes with this meter?
The meter connects to its probe through a standard BNC connector. The replacement probe for this meter is the Bluelab Leap pH Probe, which is compatible with Bluelab meters, monitors and controllers that have a BNC connection.
How do I keep the probe accurate?
Calibrate with pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 solutions, and recalibrate when the 30-day reminder appears. Keep the probe cap filled with KCl storage solution so the sensor stays hydrated.
